Parmesan Bread Sticks with Seeds

The crunchy breadsticks, called Grissini in Italian, are often served at the restaurant as an appetizer with a kind of dip - tsatsikikjopoolutirosalata or hummus.  You can also have them with some slices of prosciutto or bacon wrapped around them. I prepared them with grated parmesan cheese and sesame and poppy seeds and they turned out to be a great snack to nibble on. These parmesan breadsticks include butter, but you can not feel it while eating - if you prefer cheese breadsticks with more buttery and creamy taste, I would recommend you these ones.

Deep Fried pork belly - the crunchy winter relish

Do you like fatty food? Probably not. But if you take the fattiest part of the pig - its belly, and fry it in even more fat, you will get a crispy delish which is enjoyed in many countries placed thousand of miles away from each other. In Bulgaria the fatty chunks are called 'prujki', in Spain and Colombia - 'chicharrón', in Portugal - 'Torresmo'. 'Pork rind' in England or 'шкварки' in Russia, it is all the same. Here is the way I prepare this appetizer. And do not worry about calories - there is a whole stream into the diet science which calls for eating fat if you want to loose weight. So take a glas of wine or beer and enjoy it.

Crispy fried zucchini (κολοκυθάκια τηγανητά)

Crispy fried zucchini
I love the taste of fried zucchini. And what makes them so lovable? Their crispiness. Fried zucchini should be hot and crispy. If you have an opportunity to travel to Greece, you definitely should try the fried zucchini served in most of the restaurants and they will never disappoint you. κολοκυθάκια τηγανητά have crispy crusts tender insides.

Chorizo with potatoes

This is a quick and easy Spanish dish which has the taste of Pimentón which blends so well with the garlic aroma and the potatoes. For more spicyness I usually sprinkle some hot fresh pepper slices above. Other tasty dishes with Chorizo I prepare often are Fried prawns with Chorizo and Pizza with Chorizo, prawns and Mozarella.
